Technology Strategies
This page serves as a helpful tool of strategies for teachers seeking to use technology in the classroom. To be specific, teachers need to be familiar with strategies involving problem solving when issues occur in technology and how to appropriately integrate technology in the classroom.
Problem Solving
The first step in problem solving is to be patient. From there you must determine what the problem is. Depending on the specific problem, it is often helpful to start over or in other words reboot. Another strategy is to get to know the I.T.s that are in your building. They will be more than happy to help. Another strategy is to try troubleshooting. This will help you end programs that aren't working.
Integrating Technology in the Classroom
Technology can be a great asset in the classroom, but it can also greatly prohibit learning. Teachers must learn to apply what they know about the psychology of a child's learning as they determine how and what technology they will use in the classroom. While technology can be very interactive, we must keep in mind that a child has many other intelligences that need to be engaged during the learning process. A helpful website that contains articles written by teachers about how to incorporate technology in the classroom is TeachersNetwork.org. On this site, there are articles regarding differentiated instruction and how to teach to different learning styles, such as audio learners, using technology. Websites like TeachersNetwork.org and other like it that are a medium for classroom teachers to share ideas, can be very beneficial when researching for new ways to reach your students.
Based on a blog written by the Bi-College News Online, The hope for technology in the classroom is for students to use the programs and build confidence in themselves and in their learning.
