Teachers are constantly giving of themselves and pouring into those around them. It is essential that teachers take time out to make sure they are being poured into and taught as well. Teacher workshops are a great way to do this. Getting yourself involved in different workshops and groups such as these will help you develop professionally as well as help avoid the "burning out" that so many teachers encounter.
The Pro's and Con's
Workshops are a great way for teachers to stay ahead of the game and learn from their peers in the teaching world. Teacher workshops also provide classroom support, technical assistance, and increase collaboration in the classroom. Teacher to teacher initiative was created for teachers to get support from each other and learn from professionals what is working in their classrooms. Workshops are free and a good opportunity for teachers to learn the newest and most effective ways of teaching, new skills, methods, and ideas. Teacher workshops are very benefitial even though there are some complications involved. One problem with workshops is that teachers have to find time out of their busy schedule to go to workshops. Also, if a confrence is longer than two days, teachers must find a place to stay overnight.
